7

Physical Presence During Contest

Each team must be physically present at their university during the online contest.

Teams or members participating remotely or from outside the university will be disqualified.

Any team with absent members during the preliminary contest will not be allowed to participate in the onsite regional contest, even if they qualify. Team members should not leave before the end of the contest.

Physically challenged participants may be considered as an exception, subject to prior approval if required.

Replacement Guidelines and Procedures

Team Substitution Policy

9

Team Substitution Policy

Ranking-Based Replacement

A university may swap or replace a team if necessary, provided the replacement team is selected strictly based on the official online preliminary contest ranking. (Suppose University X qualified 3 teams from the online preliminary contest - Team A (Rank 1), Team B (Rank 2), and Team C (Rank 3) and the team after Team C is Team D. If Team B cannot participate in the regional contest for any reason (Eg Disqualified for cheating), the university may replace Team B only with the next eligible team Team D (Rank 4 team of University X). The university cannot replace Team B with any team that ranked lower than Team D (Unless Team D is also disqualified) or did not solve any problem in the preliminary round.

Approval Required

Such substitution must be approved by the university contest coordinator and reported to the ICPC Dhaka Regional Organizing Committee before the onsite round with proper reason.

Restrictions

Any arbitrary replacement or selection outside the ranking order will not be accepted. No substitutions or replacements will be accepted after the deadline.

Example Scenario

Suppose University X qualified 3 teams: Team A (Rank 1), Team B (Rank 2), Team C (Rank 3), and Team D (Rank 4). If Team B cannot participate, the university may replace Team B only with Team D (next eligible team). The university cannot replace Team B with any team that ranked lower than Team D or did not solve any problem in the preliminary round.
